Ramadan A. Ahmed, Ph.D., is Professor of Psychology in the College of Social Sciences of Kuwait University, Kuwait. He has been interested in research on parental acceptance-rejection since 1985. He conducted – with others – and supervised studies on the relation between perception of parental acceptance-rejection and variables such as development of moral judgment, phobias, and identity disorders. He is currently conducting a study on the reliability of the Short and Standard forms of the Arabic language versions of the Parental Acceptance-Rejection Questionnaire. He and others are also studying the relationship between the perception of parental acceptance-rejection, and perception of best friends’, siblings’, and teachers’ behavior in relation to personality dispositions in Kuwaiti youth. He received the Outstanding International Psychologist Award, APA (for researchers outside the USA) for 2008.
