JohnBosco Chika Chukwuorji, PhD, is a clinical and health psychologist and a faculty member at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. His work focuses on understanding psychosocial factors that shape wellbeing across the lifespan. His research spans family dynamics, trauma, chronic stress, resilience, interpersonal acceptance and rejection, and developmental psychopathology, with a particular interest in how social experiences influence emotional adjustment and vulnerability to self-harm. He has contributed extensively to studies on adolescent development, peer relationships, psychogerontology, and culturally grounded mental health processes in African contexts. His work also examines protective factors—such as gratitude, self-compassion, and social support—that mitigate the impact of adversity. Dr Chukwuorji is committed to advancing evidence-based strategies that strengthen interpersonal relationships and promote healthier developmental pathways across all age groups. He collaborates with researchers, clinicians, and policymakers to translate scientific insights into interventions that enhance wellbeing in underserved communities.
